About The Position

The Plant Utility position is responsible for completing day-to-day work safely and in a timely manner while maintaining a clean work site. The employee must follow the company safety program and contribute as a member of the team. Work is performed in a plant environment, with most work taking place outdoors and exposure to inclement weather. The role may involve working under stressful conditions and handling potentially confidential information.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Able to read, speak, and write English.
• Able to work under stressful conditions at times.
• Strong work ethic, integrity, honesty, and commitment to excellence, with appropriate communication.
• Dependability, reliability, and ability to fulfill responsibilities.
• Able to use hands and arms to handle, install, position, and move materials and manipulate objects.
• Able to wear common protective or safety equipment, including safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats when needed.
• Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull 50 pounds or more.
• Frequently walk on unleveled ground.
• Regularly sit or stand, reach, and move about the facility.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and requirements.
• Participate in safety meetings.
• Shovel, sweep, and monitor the site.
• Operate and service small equipment; be familiar with power tools and small tools.
• Conduct pre-operation equipment checks.
• Clean, lubricate, and fuel equipment, and perform general site housekeeping.
• Ensure safety fences, markings, and berms are in place.
• Notify a supervisor and/or maintenance of work that needs to be done.
• Perform other related duties as required.
