About The Position

The Plant Technician, referred to in the job summary as an Operations Technician, completes daily tasks to operate and maintain facility equipment and systems, including outage-related maintenance. The role supports efficient and cost-effective facility operations while complying with safety and environmental regulations. The position is located in Poolville, Texas, and its level will be determined by applicable skills and experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Proven mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work constructively under minimum supervision.
Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends, be on call, accept call-outs, and work overtime.
Basic PC skills for information processing and management.
General knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
Ability to operate a forklift and man-lifts as needed.
Must successfully complete the Plant Operator Selection System/Power Plant Operations and Maintenance (POSS / MASS) program to be considered for the position.

Responsibilities

Maintain shift operating logs and records.
Operate and monitor plant equipment and systems.
Conduct regular equipment rounds, take critical instrument readings, and report abnormal conditions to the appropriate manager.
Perform assigned mechanical maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting.
Assist in developing standard operating procedures as assigned.
Follow safe work practices, identify hazards, and follow through on corrective actions approved by Management.
Use the Computerized Maintenance Management system to document plant deficiencies, schedule work, and order materials.
Complete required plant training and assist in training others.
Unload, handle, and transfer bulk chemicals, and take samples for analysis and testing.
Maintain plant housekeeping and security.
Conduct thermal and water plant chemistry.
Complete Tier 3 qualifications for operations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
