About The Position

Responsible for basic operational knowledge of all plant systems and perform operation of the equipment within specification and environmental regulations and will work under the direction of skilled Plant Technicians. Responsible for continuing to learn the proper function, operation, and perform maintenance of equipment at a Gas Plant for the Gas fleet. Responsible for promoting safe, effective, and reliable operation.

Requirements

  • 1-4 years of power plant or related experience
  • Satisfactory completion of Tier 1 job performance measures composed of basic: Operations, Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrument and Controls
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts
  • Demonstrate standard computer-based skills
  • Demonstrate effective oral & verbal communications skills
  • Applicant will be required to successfully complete the Plant Operations Selection System/Plant Maintenance Positions Selection System (Poss/Mass)
  • If applicable, candidate must meet the requirement of PT1-E

Nice To Haves

  • Progression of skill within primary skill set.
  • Satisfactory completion of Tier 2 job performance measures predominately composed of Sign-offs of demonstrating different primary and auxiliary system operations and maintenance relevant to primary skill.
  • Demonstrate continual self improvement in job skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting/performing troubleshooting of plant equipment, preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure proper functioning, daily maintenance, construction, demolition, overhauls, repair /replacement and removal/installation of plant equipment and structures.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts
  • Provides skills for maintaining equipment at the plant
  • Perform clearances in LOTOV under the direction of a senior operator or supervisor
  • Utilizes/operates various types of hand, power, precision or machine tools necessary to support safe and productive work environments.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all electronic control systems and computers
  • Understands and follows current safety and environmental regulations necessary to conduct all phases of work
  • Ensures strict adherence to safety, health and environmental procedures as they relate to plant operations and maintenance including but not limited to Lockout Tagout, Job Safety Analysis, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety and PPE
