About The Position

Toledo Steel Supply is seeking a dedicated Plant Supervisor to oversee a 24/7 steel grinding and milling operation. This role involves managing a team across four work shifts, ensuring production processes deliver high-quality products profitably. The supervisor will be responsible for staffing, setting objectives, organizing workflows, training, and coaching team members. The position operates in a fast-paced manufacturing environment utilizing state-of-the-art technology for steel processing.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Prior Supervisory experience required
2 years experience operating manufacturing machinery to include Blanchard Grinders, Milling Machines, CNC Machinery
High mechanical aptitude and quality workmanship
Strong leadership and people management skills
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills and abilities
Ability to resolve conflict, problem-solve, and build team performance
Self-motivated with results-driven approach

Nice To Haves

Certificate or diploma in engineering or relevant discipline is a plus

Responsibilities

Oversee all staffing functions and operations for their department.
Set daily, weekly, and/or monthly objectives and communicate them to employees.
Organize workflows by assigning responsibilities.
Train and coach team members.
Ensure production processes deliver products of maximum quality in a profitable manner.
Model behavior and leadership values according to Toledo Steel’s standards and expectations.
Ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
Maintain a smooth and efficient process by monitoring employees and organizing workflows.
Prepare schedules to meet production needs.
Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, and conducting job performance reviews.
Host meetings and communicate with team members to establish expectations to achieve production goals.
Lead and contribute to team effort by accomplishing production goals and objectives.
Oversee, coach team members, and submit reports in relation to performance and progress.
Maintain a sufficient staff by participating in recruiting, interviewing, and training new employees; develop personal growth opportunities.
Measure and check production output to ensure required specifications are met.
Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
Ensure safe use of equipment and machines and schedule regular maintenance.
Train new employees on how to safely use production machines, tools and other operating equipment according to established procedures.
Identify any inefficiencies and suggest process improvements.
Troubleshoot equipment and make basic adjustments.
Oversee safe operation of material handling equipment (forklift & overhead crane).
Enforce strict safety guidelines daily.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
