About The Position

The Plant Staff Accountant reports to the Group Controller - Operations and is an integral part of the Finance and Accounting team supporting all plant operations.

Requirements

  • Must be able to operate a personal computer and have knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Suite including PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Excellent data analysis skills with a focus on problem solving
  • Strong computer skills, specifically in Excel.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to delegate effectively
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate and work with employees at all levels of the organization as well as our member/owners and external stakeholders
  • Perform tasks with a high level of confidentiality
  • Flexible and positive in a fast-paced and ever changing environment
  • Must demonstrate good judgement when carrying out duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s or better in accounting or related field preferred
  • 2 years ore more experience working in accounting environment
  • College level verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced computational skills required.
  • Advanced math reasoning required.
  • English is required as the written and spoken language
  • Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions given in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Must have the ability to discern when issues may require input from levels of authority within the corporation

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics D365 a plus

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of daily, weekly, monthly plant financial and operational performance reports
  • Preparation of monthly State reporting for dairy manufacturing
  • Support internal and external audit processes
  • Partner with Operations Management to identify cost savings, improve performance, and eliminate waste
  • Records, reviews and analyzes month-end journal entries and inventory reconciliation
  • Work with management to analyze production volumes and BOM formula validation
  • Partner with Operations Management team to execute business reviews, forecasts, and budget
  • Evaluate accounting procedures for potential improvement in overall process or efficiencies
  • Support Operations by performing administrative tasks such as ERP transactions, purchasing processes, inventory transactions, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with CDI’s accounting policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
