GENERAL SUMMARY: Reporting to the Plant Services shift lead, this position will be responsible for all activities associated with the sanitation of food processing equipment, facility hygiene and master cleaning assignments. This includes adhering to GMP standards, chemical handling procedures, PPE requirements, and lockout tag out protocols. All required training must be completed within 3 months of hire. Position will require the individual to work most weekends and must be willing to take not-scheduled days at any time throughout the week to support sanitation cleaning schedules. This position is eligible for progression to Plant Services Specialist position after required training has been completed and if employee remains in good standing.

Requirements

  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs repeatedly
  • Must be able to reach, climb and maintain balance at heights
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English
  • High School Diploma or GED and/or 1-year production experience in a manufacturing environment required

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in sanitation, janitorial work, or food processing is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Sanitizing tools and equipment across the plant
  • Cleaning equipment during shift changeovers
  • Performing janitorial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, refilling dispensers, etc.
  • Operating floor scrubbers and other cleaning equipment
  • Following all safety and sanitation protocols
  • Safely operating cleaning tools and equipment
  • Using high-pressure hoses, compressed air and cleaning chemicals
  • Completing required safety training (Chemical Safety, Combustible Dust, Confined Space)
  • Participating in safety programs (SBOs, F-Tags, incident reporting)
  • Maintaining flexibility and communicating with shift leads when tasks are complete
  • Working around allergens (nuts, flour etc.)
  • Obtaining certifications for forklift, scissor lift, boom lift, wave lift
  • Working at heights up to 40 feet using fall protection
  • Completing other tasks as assigned by the Sanitation Manager or Plant Services Lead
