About The Position

As part of an aseptic, beverage manufacturing facility the Plant Sanitation Technician will be critical to maintaining a clean and orderly production facility ensuring the highest quality standards of sanitization for food production. In this role, the Plant Sanitation Technician will perform cross functional duties with personnel from all departments to provide overall plant sanitization duties such as cleaning walls, ceilings, floors, etc. as required by the Master Cleaning Schedule. The Plant Sanitation Technician will also be required to follow through on established daily cleaning requirements for the overall cleanliness of the facility to ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance (PMO) and internal product quality standards.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • General computer skills required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time management and analytical reasoning skills required.
  • Ability to use small tools and cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating a power industrial truck preferred.
  • Experience operating a floor scrubber preferred.
  • Experience in a sanitation role at a manufacturing facility preferred.
  • Experience with Safe Quality Food (SQF) and basic Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Recognizes and provides cleaning and sanitizing needs for all areas of the facility as required.
  • Ability to understand/follow Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Follows master sanitation schedule and responds to assigned work orders in a timely manner.
  • Keeps and maintains neat and accurate sanitation logs both electronically and paper based.
  • Provides expert sanitation support to all areas of the plant.
  • Responsible for daily interior facility cleaning/sanitation and custodial duties within production and non-production workspaces.
  • Responsible for daily exterior facility sanitation and custodial duties.
  • Responsible for maintaining and operating various floor scrubbers and other related equipment.
  • Works cross functionally with Production, Engineering/Maintenance and Quality Personnel.
  • Conducts chemical concentration tests on cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
  • Assists in the inventory of bulk and non-bulk cleaning agents and sanitizers.
  • Ensures all chemical containers are correctly labeled.
  • Continuously maintain work areas to ensure cGMP and PMO compliance.
  • Ensures all cleaning equipment is used, maintained, and stored appropriately.
  • Ensure that pest control systems are operating efficiently and effectively.
  • Assists/performs in Clean Out of Place (COP) procedures.
  • Reports employee safety, food safety, and quality concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Assists with training needs for new Sanitation Technicians.
  • Assists with the inventory of required cleaning/sanitation items and reports to the appropriate individual for reorder.
  • Works with Plant Sanitation Supervisor to identify plant sanitization concerns.
  • Responsible for adhering to all plant safety policies, along with all SQF and cGMP requirements.
  • Follow Food Safety Requirement/Standards as needed.
