About The Position

The plant purchaser is responsible for managing inventory on multiple items across the entire facility. They will work closely with vendors and routinely review inventories and order as required. They will track the status of orders to make sure orders will arrive on time according to our production schedule. The purchaser will act as a liaison between protein procurement and protein vendors. They will also work with our accounting team to ensure new vendors are set up according to company policy.

Requirements

  • Able to organize and prioritize in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Able to read and write legibly.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Good computer skills. Demonstrated proficiency of computers and Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

  • Previous Purchasing Experience

Responsibilities

  • Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
  • Review purchases and purchase orders.
  • Review purchase order claims for conformance to company policy.
  • Help complete new vendor setup.
  • Flexible work schedule to allow for some afterhours communication (email/phone calls).
  • Follow Lean Manufacturing Processes; team building, consistency in high quality, preventative maintenance, good work place conditions, productive work, etc.
  • Monitor Unsafe Behavior
  • Follow all OSHA Guidelines
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
