About The Position

The procurement officer will be responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. This role requires exceptional negotiation skills, a thorough understanding of procurement processes, and the ability to build strong relationships with vendors.

Requirements

  • General knowledge of typical office technologies such as computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, and typical office software.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain vendor relationships.
  • Knowledge of purchase orders and process, contracts, terms and general conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations governing procurement.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to solve problems and make data-driven decisions.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be a self-starter and possess time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Fluent with computers, outlook, and MS office.
  • Skill in assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands.
  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience as a construction project manager, procurement officer or in a similar role.
  • Must have valid AK Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Source suppliers and obtain competitive quotes for goods and services.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve the best value for the company.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and conduct regular supplier reviews.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to determine procurement needs and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.
  • Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify potential suppliers and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulations and laws.
  • Resolve any issues or disputes with suppliers regarding quality, delivery, or pricing.
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize procurement processes and improve efficiency.
  • Stay current on developments in procurement best practices and technology tools.
  • Other duties as assigned.
