About The Position

The Plant Operator at Archaea Energy Services LLC is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant equipment and systems, ensuring adherence to established procedures and cost-effective practices. This role involves proactive maintenance, risk mitigation, and contributing to overall plant reliability. Archaea Energy, a leader in the landfill gas to energy industry has an immediate opening. we are looking for candidates with 1-5 years of operation & maintenance experience on mobile or stationary engine generator sets up to 1500 kW. Specific experience monitoring plant operations, performing maintenance and repairs on CAT G3500 and G3600 gas engines or similar piston engines, controls, generators and ancillary equipment is desired. Your employment with Archaea will begin with an introductory period of 90 days, starting from your first day of work. The introductory period is intended to support your transition into the role and provide an opportunity for both you and the Company to ensure a strong mutual fit. During this time, we’ll work together to assess how your performance, conduct, and reliability align with the expectations of the position and the values of our organization, while also offering guidance and feedback to help you succeed. During this time, your supervisor will evaluate your ability to meet the expectations of your role, including but not limited to: Consistent and timely attendance, Quality and accuracy of work, Ability to meet deadlines and productivity standards, Adherence to company policies and procedures and the bp Code of Conduct, Professional behavior and collaboration with team members and management. At the conclusion of the introductory period, your performance will be reviewed. If you successfully demonstrate satisfactory performance consistent with the criteria set forth above, your continued at-will employment will be confirmed. If, however, you do not successfully demonstrate performance consistent with the criteria set forth above, your employment with Archaea will be terminated at the end of the probationary period. Note that, your employment with Archaea is at-will both during the probationary period and if you successfully complete the probationary period. At-will means that either you or Archaea may terminate your employment at any time, with or without cause, and with or without prior notice.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Plant Operator, preferably in a similar industrial setting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Control of Work principles and application.
  • Strong understanding of cost-conscious decision-making in an operational environment.
  • Solid background in general maintenance practices and troubleshooting.
  • Thorough knowledge of operational procedures and practices.
  • Understanding of reliability general concepts and their application.
  • Experience with risk management techniques and hazard identification.
  • Demonstrated Safety Leadership, with a commitment to fostering a safe work environment.
  • Familiarity with turnaround general processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, schematics, and operational manuals.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Execute Control of Work processes diligently to ensure safe operational activities.
  • Make cost-conscious decisions in day-to-day operations to optimize resource utilization and minimize waste.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks and troubleshooting on plant equipment and systems.
  • Strictly adhere to all established procedures and practices for plant operation, maintenance, and safety.
  • Actively contribute to maintaining and improving overall plant reliability through vigilant monitoring and proactive measures.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks, implementing effective risk management strategies.
  • Demonstrate strong Safety Leadership by promoting a culture of safety, identifying hazards, and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Participate in and support turnaround general activities, including planning, execution, and post-turnaround reviews.
  • Monitor plant performance, collect data, and report on operational parameters.
  • Respond to alarms and abnormal conditions, taking appropriate corrective actions.
  • Assist with the training of less experienced operators.
