About The Position

Airgas is hiring a Plant Operator in Miami, FL. This role coordinates cylinder filling to streamline cylinder handling, ensuring cylinders are filled to cover customer requirements. The position involves attentive review and checking of cylinders and bundles, including their accessories, paint, and valves. It also supports the maintenance and operation of treatment equipment such as hydrotest machines, dryers, painting equipment, and ovens. The role includes performing leak tests, painting cylinders according to compliance standards, supporting cylinder testing, and assisting with valving/de-valving, drying, and vacuum baking of cylinders. Additionally, it involves ensuring cylinders conform to the correct color and gas type, facilitating a smooth handover to the filling area, and initializing GTS barcodes. Quality checks, including dew point checks, are also a key part of the role to maintain product integrity.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in plant operations, industrial maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Technical certification in industrial operations is a plus.
  • Industrial Gas Experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate cylinder filling to streamline cylinder handling.
  • Fill cylinders before out-off and to cover customer requirements after out-off.
  • Perform attentive review of new and return cylinders & bundles, checking for year test or tube accessories, paints, valves, caps, etc.
  • Check the condition of frame bundles and manifold, and sort cylinders and bundles.
  • Support the treatment equipment such as hydrotest machine, dryer, painting equipment, and oven before operation.
  • Perform cylinder or valve leak tests using soapy water.
  • Paint cylinders in accordance with government compliance and standards.
  • Support cylinder testing with hydrotest machine in accordance with government regulation.
  • Support valving / de-valving of cylinders in accordance with AL safety standards.
  • Support drying & vacuum bake oven of cylinders.
  • Foster the conformity of the cylinders according to the color and its gas.
  • Foster a smooth handover process of cylinders to the filling area.
  • Initialize GTS barcode on the cylinder after the maintenance process.
  • Support the replacement of defect accessories.
  • Install the cap and valve type according to gas and cylinder allocation.
  • Attach stickers according to product specifications and grades.
  • Support quality check of dew point check per batch cylinder VBO as product specification needed.
  • Foster the integrity of quality of all products.
  • Perform functional testing on analyzers.
