About The Position

In the absence of the Plant Manager, the leadman is responsible for ALL site activities. This role is responsible for the Health and Welfare of the crew and ensuring the site meets or exceeds Safety Standards. The Plant Operator is responsible for the administration of the Summit Safety Principles, the safe operation of the plant, obtaining the maximum production at the plant, and ensuring that quality products are being produced within internal and external specifications. This role also compiles all data so that timecards, maintenance logs, production logs, etc., can be completed and implements the Plant Program, including the Daily Production Schedule and Daily Maintenance Schedule. Parts requisitions are to be obtained from the Site Manager. The operator must communicate with crew members frequently to ensure best operational practices at the plant and monitor compliance with fugitive dust from the plant.

Requirements

Training Required (Kilgore will provide training upon hiring)
Required Safety training
Site Specific Training, including site inspection training
Plant Operation Task Training
Do not run equipment without performing the inspection.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the safe operation of the plant.
Responsible for obtaining the maximum production at the plant.
Ensures that quality products are being produced within internal and external specifications.
Compiles all data so that timecards, maintenance logs, production logs, etc., can be completed.
Implement the Plant Program, Daily Production Schedule, and Daily Maintenance Schedule.
Obtain Parts requisitions from Site Manager.
Communicate with crew members frequently to ensure best operational practices at the plant.
Monitors compliance with fugitive dust from the plant.
Daily Equipment Inspection.
Maintenance logs.
Production logs.
Timecards.
Oversee inspection and repair of plant equipment.
Required daily and monthly plant inspections.
Report any safety or mechanical issues to supervisor immediately.
Turn in Equipment inspection log daily.
Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Do not idle equipment when not in use. Turn it off.
Keep Equipment Cab and Control House clean, wiped down and maintained.
Constantly visually inspect plant operations.
Monitor feed material coming from the loader to ensure it will allow for the best performance of the plant and the final products produced will be of the highest quality.
Meet or Enhance Scheduled Uptime, Scheduled Operating Efficiency, Scheduled Labor costs, and Maintenance costs.
Ensure that production goals are achieved.
Communicate goal progress to supervisor and crew.
Adhere to training received.
Adhere to Company Safety Standards.
If you see a problem, take the initiative to fix the problem.
Stop the job when unsafe behavior is being displayed.
