Airgas is Hiring for a Plant Operator 1- Loader in Grand Prairie, TX ! We are looking for you! You will contribute to the movement and organization of products, compressed gas cylinders, and other materials to load route delivery trucks, using equipment such as a forklift to ensure a smooth flow of materials.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Ability to obtain a valid forklift operator’s license.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 60 pounds, and occasionally move up to 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
  • Strong foundational communication skills, including the ability to process written instructions and deliver clear verbal updates to team members.
  • Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies, sorts and palletizes cylinders by size and product for smooth and effective refilling and handling.
  • Skilled at operating a forklift and safely supporting the loading / unloading of compressed gas and liquid cylinders to and from delivery vehicles.
  • Performs visual inspections of empty cylinders.
  • Hammers and odor tests empty cylinders as required.
  • Communicates any equipment or facility defects to the supervisor to maintain a safe environment.
  • Completes activity / deficiency reports as required.
  • Replaces safety valves on cylinders.
  • Removes and replaces labels on cylinders as required.
  • Supports and maintains all state and federal laws and regulations and safety procedures.
  • Works safely and aligns with the standards of all safety procedures and rules as prescribed by State, Federal, and the Company.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
