APAC- Inc., Kansas City, a CRH company, is seeking a Plant Operator and Maintenance professional. Requirements

  • At least two years of experience in one or more of the following—front end loader, dozer, excavator, quality control, mechanic, or plant operations.
  • Comfortable outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work on rough terrain, climb machinery, and perform manual tasks with care.
  • Basic math and reasoning skills, plus competency in reading and following instructions.
  • Strong communication skills, especially in noisy environments.
  • Valid Class E driver’s license (clean driving record).

Responsibilities

  • Operate a large Front End Wheel Loader to move shot rock, load trucks, and manage material throughout the quarry.
  • Maintain detailed logs of work and support efficient operations.
  • Drive and operate large haul trucks to transport rock, dirt, and other materials to various destinations within the site.
  • Fill, drive, and operate a water truck to control dust in line with environmental requirements.
  • Collect rock samples, test for moisture, sift and sort materials by size, and document results to maintain product standards.
  • Oversee the rock crushing plant, ensuring proper setup, operation, and maintenance for maximum efficiency.
  • Manage plant automation and compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair loaders, dozers, trucks, and other heavy equipment.
  • Perform daily safety checks on all equipment.
  • Operate machinery to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Communicate with the onsite foreman about daily tasks and goals.
  • Follow established routes and procedures to ensure safety and quality.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and report any issues to the supervisor.
  • Support regular plant maintenance including welding, conveyor and bearing replacement, oil changes, and more.
