We are seeking a full-time Crane Operator to join our fast-paced steel service center. Safety is our number one priority, and team members are expected to follow all safety procedures, perform required equipment inspections, and work with plant personnel to achieve daily production goals.

Requirements

  • Experience in a steel processing, manufacturing, or warehouse environment preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and follow established procedures.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Willingness to work night or overnight shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist operations across multiple production lines, including stretcher, leveler, shear, and packaging areas
  • Monitor material during production to ensure quality standards are met and report defects or issues
  • Prepare and verify materials prior to production, including checking work orders, dimensions, and specifications
  • Measure materials using tools such as micrometers and tape measures to ensure accuracy
  • Assist with feeding coils into production lines and ensuring proper alignment and positioning
  • Support operators during line runs by monitoring material flow and assisting with adjustments
  • Perform blocking, stacking, and packaging preparation tasks as required
  • Band, tag, and identify finished materials in accordance with work orders and production requirements
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of production equipment and material staging areas
  • Maintain proper material handling using cranes, forklifts, and other equipment as required
  • Perform sample cutting and assist with quality testing procedures when needed
  • Identify and report nonconforming materials and follow proper procedures for handling and documentation
  • Follow all procedures for stopping production lines safely, including emergency stop situations
  • Perform daily equipment and tool inspections and report any unsafe conditions
  • Maintain accurate documentation and assist with production reporting as required
