The Plant Operations Supervisor is responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and scheduling day-to-day facilities maintenance and housekeeping needs. This role ensures regular, quality preventative maintenance and assists the Director of Facilities with scheduling and managing special projects. The position requires the ability to perform and supervise a variety of jobs related to carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, construction, engineering, housekeeping, and general maintenance. The supervisor will provide direct, hands-on supervision of multi-trade maintenance mechanics, housekeeping and contracted cleaning staff, as well as contractors like HVAC technicians and painters. They will hold staff and contractors accountable for the quality of their work and ensure compliance with university policies. The position requires availability to address emergency maintenance issues 24 hours a day, in-person as necessary, and will support the Director of Facilities during operational or maintenance emergencies. Additionally, the role will oversee the implementation and effective use of a work order system and produce necessary reports.
