About The Position

Greenfield Global is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead manufacturing, packaging, planning, and shipping operations at our Brookfield, Connecticut Life Sciences facility. This is an opportunity for a hands-on operational leader who thrives in fast-paced manufacturing environments and is passionate about building high-performing teams, improving processes, and driving operational excellence. Reporting to the Site General Manager, you will lead a team of approximately 40 employees while ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations that deliver exceptional service to customers around the world. Requirements

  • 5+ years of operations leadership experience in manufacturing, chemicals, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, industrial products, or related industries.
  • Proven success leading frontline and supervisory teams in a production environment.
  • Strong coaching, mentorship, and people-development capabilities.
  • Experience improving manufacturing performance through Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling, inventory management, and operational metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to optimize workflows and improve efficiency.
  • Experience working in highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical handling, hazardous materials, OSHA, DOT, EPA, and related compliance requirements.
  • Commitment to creating and maintaining a culture where safety comes first.
  • Comfortable using ERP systems and operational reporting tools.
  • Data-driven approach to decision making and performance management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with frontline employees, leadership teams, and cross-functional partners.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily manufacturing, packaging, planning, scheduling, and shipping activities.
  • Develop, coach, and inspire a team of approximately 40 employees.
  • Foster a culture centered on safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive operational performance through data, KPIs, and process optimization.
  • Identify opportunities to improve throughput, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, and Customer Service teams.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, FDA, and internal safety standards.
  • Oversee inventory management, production planning, and on-time customer delivery.
  • Lead problem-solving efforts and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Support future growth initiatives and operational improvements across the site.
