Under the direction of a Plant Manager, this role directs the daily operations for production and maintenance departments. The Plant Operations Manager monitors both departments, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely, while also ensuring all applicable regulatory requirements are met. This position is responsible for championing a safety culture, ensuring a safe work environment, and cultivating safe behavior. The role involves directing and coordinating activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods, establishing processes for quick response to mechanical needs, and organizing routine preventive maintenance for machinery. The Plant Operations Manager executes production schedules, provides guidance to shift leaders, maintains inventory procedures, and participates in hiring decisions. A key aspect of the role is leading problem-solving and process improvement initiatives to resolve product issues and ensure successful new product launches. Auditing facilities for GMP compliance and maintaining quality standards are also essential duties. The role requires providing guidelines for equipment maintenance, monitoring performance reports, and developing the skills of staff. Driving project execution to ensure timely completion is expected, along with performing other duties as assigned by plant management. Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required.
