About The Position

The Plant Operations Manager provides day-to-day leadership, assuming P&L responsibility for all manufacturing operations, including safety, quality, and production metrics. This role involves analyzing operational performance and key metrics to identify opportunities for efficiency optimization and drive continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing. They also manage internal and external stakeholder relationships, ensuring regulatory compliance and guiding cultural change to meet site and company goals.

Requirements

  • Business acumen with the ability to create, analyze, data, and interpret P&L statements.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing and Manufacturing Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, Customer Service, EHS, Finance, Human Resources, Quality, and Supply Chain Management functions.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Skill in delivering responsive, high-quality customer service.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems.
  • Advanced proficiency (knowledge) with Microsoft Office 365.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Combined experience in Plant Operations Management practices of 5 or more years with education is desirable.
  • Previous experience manufacturing industry-leading manufacturing operations in a LEAN environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree, preferred.
  • Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) Certifications desired.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and analyze departmental performance to find ways to optimize efficiency and drive Operational Excellence.
  • Oversee and report daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual operational metrics to track progress and inform decision-making.
  • Develop forecasts, measure actual performance against established plans and budgets, and identify key drivers behind results to guide future strategy.
  • Develop operation systems, operating schedules, and workloads to ensure the most effective and timely use of production equipment and personnel.
  • Partner with internal (e.g., Sales, Engineering) and external stakeholders to drive the execution of site and company goals.
  • Align with and support capital equipment programs, ensure the implementation of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, and assess operational risks while implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain constructive working relationships to effectively lead cultural change that embodies company values, while ensuring full compliance with all relevant government, financial, environmental, and labor regulations.
