About The Position

As the overseer of plant operations, this leader holds responsibility for the comprehensive management of all facets within their designated plants. Their primary objective revolves around ensuring that the plant operations not only meet but consistently exceed set targets while adhering strictly to established standards. Beyond this, they play a pivotal role in fostering collaboration and synergy among various plant functions, facilitating a cohesive approach to supporting and addressing operational requirements.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years in plant operations and related areas, managing large groups with increasing responsibility.
  • At least 4 years of leadership experience, specifically overseeing plant operations.
  • BS/BA Degree or higher in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field.
  • Proven success in attracting, developing, and retaining diverse high-performing teams.
  • Deep understanding of operational challenges, enterprise goals, and cultural management.
  • Builds high-performing teams and provides effective coaching for individual development.
  • Strong ability to manage operational topics and challenges while aligning with business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee all aspects of plant operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strategies to optimize plant performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Establish clear performance metrics and accountability structures for plant operations.
  • Regularly monitor production workflow, prioritize tasks, and take proactive measures to meet schedules and deadlines.
  • Ensure adherence to professional standards, including occupational health and safety regulations and customer requirements.
  • Implement and enforce standard work practices to maintain a safe and compliant operating environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with various departments such as Continuous Improvement, Maintenance, Engineering, Safety, and Quality to achieve operational excellence.
  • Drive alignment and integration of processes to deliver consistent results.
  • Implement and sustain best practices and processes, leveraging tools like GME and TRACC methodologies.
  • Drive efficiency improvements and standardization initiatives to enhance productivity and quality across the plant.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team by providing coaching, mentoring, and training opportunities.
  • Drive engagement, performance, and capability building among operational personnel to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Provide recommendations for annual and long-term capital improvements, as well as the Plant Operating Budget.
  • Collaborate with the Plant Leadership Team to allocate resources effectively and prioritize investments that support operational goals.
  • Maintain transparency on key production metrics and escalate issues promptly when necessary.
  • Facilitate communication channels between internal and external stakeholders to address challenges and drive resolution.
  • Collaborate with the Plant Leadership Team to develop and execute site people plans, focusing on talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, diversity, and inclusion within the plant.
  • Drive end-to-end process and capability improvement initiatives to deliver breakthrough results.
  • Develop and execute site improvement strategies, leveraging tools like X-Matrix, to foster innovation and adaptability in response to changing market dynamics.
