About The Position

The Plant Operations & EVS Coordinator provides oversight of maintenance, grounds, and environmental services operations. This position ensures a clean, organized, safe, and efficient environment while maintaining regulatory compliance and organizational standards.

Requirements

Must be able to read, write, and understand verbal and written communication.
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Previous maintenance and environmental services experience preferred.
Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices.

Nice To Haves

Supervisory experience in plant operations, maintenance, or environmental services.
Experience working in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
Knowledge of regulatory and life-safety standards.
Experience with preventive maintenance programs and staff training.

Responsibilities

Maintain facility systems, equipment, and grounds through preventive maintenance and repair activities.
Coordinate and monitor maintenance and environmental services staff assignments.
Develop and improve housekeeping and environmental service programs.
Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and staff development.
Evaluate employee work performance and provide coaching as needed.
Participate in quality improvement and QAPI activities.
Train staff on equipment operation, chemical safety, and proper tool usage.
Oversee facility cleaning schedules and master cleaning plans.
Conduct inspections to ensure a safe, sanitary, and compliant environment.
Coordinate routine maintenance projects and special projects.
Monitor departmental logs, reports, and communications.
Manage purchasing of equipment, supplies, and chemicals.
Assist with emergency preparedness, disaster planning, and fire drills.
Refer policy changes and contract decisions to the Nursing Home Administrator.
Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Perform other duties as assigned.
