About The Position

Plant Operations Engineer II at La Paz Regional Hospital & Clinics play a key role in helping the department meet its daily goals. This position applies expertise to support daily projects and ensure quality standards are met. It requires a strong foundation in engineering principles, effective problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with the Plant Ops team.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent two (2) year college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One or more certifications in HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing required.
  • Must be able to read blueprints.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to convey technical information to non-technical employees.
  • Good values and personal skills, and ability to get along with others.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • May require proof of a valid driver’s license and eligibility for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.
  • May be required to drive to other La Paz Regional Hospital facilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills are a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), OSHA certification) are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily tasks such as documentation of readings found on equipment, plumbing, electrical work, changing air filters and belts, cleaning HVAC unit coils, and painting and drywall repairs.
  • Conduct analysis and testing of electrical systems and components, evaluate performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary modifications.
  • Create and maintain accurate technical documentation and user manuals, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with company standards.
  • Identify technical issues and provide solutions by analyzing root causes and implementing corrective actions. Support troubleshooting efforts and provide technical guidance.
  • Monitor and ensure that engineering processes and outputs meet quality standards. Participate in quality reviews and audits.
  • Work closely with other engineers and communicate directly with the Director on jobs to be performed. Share knowledge and achieve project goals. Participate in team meetings and provide updates.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies. Contribute to process improvements and recommend enhancements to existing systems and procedures.
