About The Position

The Plant MRO Inventory Specialist supplies maintenance personnel with the tools, parts, components, and information needed to maintain and repair physical plant equipment. The position maintains accurate supplier and vendor part descriptions and inventory balances. It supports physical inventory transactions, parts-room customer service, maintenance documentation, vendor order follow-up, and reporting, and administers the CMM Program. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 1 year of experience in purchasing, parts room inventory, or vendor relations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Ability to be respectful, approachable, and team-oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

Nice To Haves

APICS Certification.
Knowledge of SAP.

Responsibilities

Process physical MRO inventory transactions, including stocking received items, disbursing parts, processing returns, and conducting inventory audits and adjustments.
Serve customers at the parts room window and record parts disbursements.
Enter maintenance documentation and administrative processes into the appropriate maintenance systems, including purchase orders, work orders, order points and maximums, invoice verification, restock orders, preventive maintenance processes, and inventory audits.
Research order problems, such as backorders and slow shipments, with outside vendors.
Help schedule and expedite delivery of ordered items in coordination with maintenance department requirements.
Generate daily, weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reports.
Administer the CMM Program.
Maintain accurate supplier/vendor part descriptions and inventory balances.
