About The Position

The Plant Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing plant equipment and mechanical systems to support safe and efficient facility operations. This position performs preventative maintenance, welding, fabrication, inspections, and mechanical repairs on a variety of industrial equipment including conveyors, pumps, hydraulic systems, trailers, forklifts, and blending equipment while ensuring compliance with company safety policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Plant Mechanic, Industrial Maintenance Technician, or Millwright.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of industrial machinery, hydraulic systems, conveyors, pumps, and engines.
  • Welding and fabrication experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, diagrams, and maintenance instructions.
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules, overtime, weekends, and emergency call-outs as needed.
  • Must provide and maintain personal hand tools required for the position.
  • Read, write, and understand English for safety, operational, and training purposes.

Nice To Haves

  • Stainless steel welding experience is a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Technical school certification, vocational training, or apprenticeship experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose issues with machinery, pumps, piping systems, conveyors, motors, hydraulic systems, and mechanical equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Conduct maintenance inspections and identify wear, damage, or operational deficiencies.
  • Repair and replace mechanical components, bearings, belts, motors, hoses, valves, and related equipment.
  • Clean, lubricate, and service machinery and mechanical systems according to maintenance schedules.
  • Replenish fluids, oils, greases, and other consumable components as needed.
  • Perform welding and fabrication work, including repairs to equipment, tanks, structures, and components.
  • Assist with millwright-related tasks including equipment alignment, installation, rigging, and assembly.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems and complete repairs as necessary.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, inspection reports, and repair documentation.
  • Assist with facility upkeep including painting, structural repairs, and general maintenance duties.
  • Provide recommendations regarding preventative maintenance practices and equipment improvements.
  • Operate tools, lifts, loaders, forklifts, and maintenance equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with safety standards.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, lockout/tagout procedures, PPE requirements, and operational policies.
  • Perform additional maintenance or operational duties as assigned by management.
