About The Position

Eden Pet Products is seeking a Mechanic – 1st Shift to repair and maintain packaging and labeling equipment within the warehouse. This role supports efficient product flow by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and assisting with facility maintenance as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1–2 years of related industrial or maintenance experience, or equivalent training
  • Basic knowledge of bolt and thread sizes
  • Ability to maintain a basic set of industrial maintenance tools
  • Ability to read and understand simple instructions and short written communications
  • Ability to apply common-sense reasoning to follow written or verbal instructions
  • Willingness to learn new systems, equipment, and maintenance skills
  • Ability to work safely and reliably in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Support efficient product flow by repairing and maintaining packaging and labeling equipment
  • Assist with repair and maintenance of machinery in assigned areas
  • Perform building and grounds maintenance as needed
  • Lubricate machinery according to preventive maintenance schedules
  • Perform basic electrical maintenance, including lighting circuits and fuse replacement
  • Operate forklifts (certification required)
  • Identify and use appropriate metals based on application
  • Identify power transmission components and diagnose minor equipment issues (chains, sprockets, belts, hydraulic hoses, etc.)
  • Safely operate oxy-acetylene cutting and welding equipment
  • Learn and assist with sheet metal fabrication, electrical troubleshooting, hydraulic systems, welding (Arc, TIG, MIG), and HVAC systems
  • Cut, thread, install, and repair piping as needed
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • Follow all Eden Pet Products and Lakeside Foods policies and procedures
  • Immediately report and correct unsafe or hazardous conditions when appropriate
  • Perform other duties as assigned
