The Water Plant Mechanic position is part of the Plant Industrial Trades Series, devoted to skilled trades work in the construction, alteration and repair of utility plant facilities and equipment. Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of chemical feed systems and equipment supporting the operations of a large-scale water treatment and pumping facility. Performs a variety of mechanical, facilities and grounds maintenance work at assigned plants, lift stations and related sites. Including inspecting, maintaining, repairing or replacing pumps, valves and meters critical to water treatment, distribution, and pumping processes. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical related issues. Inspection of the water treatment plants and remote sites, handling work orders through our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and work scheduling. The mechanic collaborates closely with operations, electrical, and instrumentation teams to maintain system integrity and operational efficiency.
