Manufacturing - Plant Manager

THE RITESCREEN COMPANY LLCFargo, ND
$120,000 - $150,000Onsite

About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Plant Manager to lead our Fargo manufacturing facility. This is not a caretaker role, but an opportunity for a leader who thrives on challenges and sees potential for growth. Our Fargo plant is the largest independent screen manufacturer in the United States, building window and door screens for a demanding OEM customer in a high-mix, build-to-order discrete manufacturing environment. The plant operates with approximately 80 employees on a Monday-Friday schedule and is a hands-on, fast-moving operation that requires strong leadership. The primary focus for the first 90 days will be on improving quality and efficiency, as the plant has the potential to be a top performer but is currently facing challenges with quality escapes and labor efficiency.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including full plant, site, or multi-department ownership.
  • Experience in discrete or assembly manufacturing (fabrication, assembly, components, building products, industrial equipment, or similar). This is a build-to-order discrete environment, not process, batch, or continuous-flow production.
  • Demonstrated turnaround results with a proven ability to improve quality and efficiency metrics, supported by data.
  • Hands-on leadership style with a significant portion of the day spent on the production floor.
  • Experience leading an hourly production workforce, including managing attendance, accountability, and development.
  • Fluency in Lean manufacturing principles with practical application and proven results (kaizen, 5S, standard work, OEE, scrap reduction).
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent plant leadership experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Full site leadership including production, quality, maintenance, shipping, and safety for an approximately 80-person hourly workforce.
  • Coach and develop value stream managers and floor leads into effective supervisors.
  • Manage plant P&L, labor cost, and cost-per-unit performance against margin targets.
  • Oversee and manage the customer relationship, including hosting OEM customer visits.
  • Execute Lean manufacturing principles on the floor, including Gemba, 5S, standard work, kaizen, and root cause analysis for scrap and rework.
  • Own KPI performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and throughput.
  • Build and foster a positive workforce culture in a diverse plant environment where multiple languages are spoken.

Benefits

  • Base salary of $120,000–$150,000.
  • Benefits package.
  • 401(k).
  • Paid Time Off (PTO).
  • Relocation assistance available for the right candidate.
