The Plant Manager is responsible for the general management of all aspects of the site operation. This role provides hands-on management of plant operations through direct, on-the-floor engagement and supervision of staff. The Plant Manager will drive site production targets and operational excellence while organically stewarding a commitment-based safety culture. They will manage daily plant operations and ensure plant and organizational objectives for customer satisfaction, productivity, Quality Management System, and financial budgets are achieved. This role also involves performing daily GEMBA walks with the local leadership team and driving post-incident and near-miss case reviews with a focus on organizational learning and system improvement, moving beyond "human error" as a root cause. The Plant Manager will provide significant input for functional areas including, but not limited to, Other Direct Cost (ODC) budgeting, staff budgeting, accounting, program cost schedule, and financial analysis. They will manage facility profit and loss (P&L), HR functions, and equipment logistics by integrating safety into every capital and operational decision. Additionally, the Plant Manager will provide significant input for analyzing operating expenses including facility and equipment repairs, overtime and purchasing, and prepare and analyze facility performance data on a daily basis to ensure plant financial and operational objectives are achieved. This role handles operational issues and escalates to the Program Management Office (PMO) or customer, as needed, and maintains maintenance, vendor, and facility contracts. Compliance with government requirements such as FAR, CFR, ASTM regulations, Statement of Work and contractual requirements, and regulatory requirements (e.g. OSHA, EPA, DOL), company policies, procedures, standards, instructions, ethics policy and EEO/AA is essential. The Plant Manager approves all hiring, transfers, promotions, terminations, exempt employee performance evaluations, and salary actions, and communicates with staff, PMO, the customer, and other sites to ensure production effectiveness.
