About The Position

Purpose Manage a plastic recycling processing facility within budget, meeting all production and quality goals while maintaining positive employee, customer and supplier relationships. Establish efficient, safe and profitable operations. Develop and maintain an environment that follows the Code of Conduct. Areas of Responsibility / Tasks Performance must reflect appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below. General Policy Direct production activities, interpret and execute production policies and direct this through team leaders. Develops and sponsors tactics to achieve strategic objectives across functional groups within the facility. Influences strategic direction and develops tactical plans and completes complex assignments with minimal supervision or review. Actively lead team to solve problems, promote uptime, ensure safety, quality, and reduce scrap of all manufacturing equipment. Coach and mentor technicians concerning safe work habits and sound trouble shooting practices, promote plant wide Total Productive Maintenance. Identify department development needs, locate resources and coordinate with Human Resources to deliver training. Develop and implement SOP for best practices. Extensive contact with internal and external customers is required to obtain, clarify or provide facts and information and drive results. Provides comprehensive solutions to complex problems within given time frame. Operate within assigned budget. Follow all Quality, Safety and Environmental Procedures. Uphold the Company Code of Conduct standards. Other duties as assigned by Director of Operations.

Requirements

  • College degree is recommended unless compensated with ten years of work experience.
  • Experience in management is preferred along with five years or more of plastics experience.
  • Knowledge of engineered plastic resin and recycled resin preferred.
  • Strong “hands-on” mechanical aptitude is necessary.
  • High-energy, positive attitude, “Sell not Tell” personality.
  • Good negotiator who is persuasive in presenting ideas.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, people management and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, with/or without the use of a private office.
  • Must be comfortable working in a non-climate controlled environment.
  • Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 40 hours with or without notice.
  • All injuries regardless of severity must be reported to your Supervisor/HR immediately.
  • Must be able to lift 55lbs.
  • Must have color vision.
  • Have use of fingers and hands for writing and typing.
  • Occasionally reach with hands & arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

Nice To Haves

  • Previous plant management experience a plus.
  • Skills, experience and training in product management, resin recycling and finance are a plus.
