At the Ideal Tridon Group, connections aren’t just what we make—they’re the heart of everything we do. We are seeking a Plant Manager for our Foster Manufacturing Plant in Springfield, MO. Summary: The Plant Manager will build and lead a team that is engaged in all aspects of operations (people and equipment) in a manufacturing and warehouse facility.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or engineering is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory or management role required.
  • Proven track record of improving overall efficiencies, reducing cost, and leading teams to effect positive change within the organization.
  • Knowledge of lean techniques may be advantageous.
  • Proven management skills with the ability to optimize team performance.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and competing priorities.
  • Confident, self-starter, change agent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Understanding of ERP systems, including bill of materials, work order management, and inventory control.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of lean techniques may be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Achieves or exceeds the expected performance levels in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
  • Manages, coaches, and develops a high-performing team that embraces change in search of best practices and improved service levels.
  • Supervises all activities and personnel linked with manufacturing, EHS, facilities, tool & die as well as equipment and plant maintenance.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote a safe work environment and ensure safety and environmental regulatory compliance.
  • Manages all manufacturing processes necessary to meet customer’s expectations while minimizing costs.
  • Tracks, manages, and improves plant performance through the use of KPIs.
  • Understand customer requirements and determine how to deploy and manage people, equipment, and tooling to meet those requirements and support the plant objectives.
  • Leads continuous improvement process across all departments/disciplines to improve safety, service, quality, or productivity.
  • Monitors and controls product quality.
  • Responds to quality concerns (either internal or external) by identifying root causes and corrective action.
  • Identifies savings opportunities and reduces waste or unnecessary steps.
  • Review KPI trends and other financial data to identify and address variances or deviations.
  • Ensure metrics, reports, and process documentation are available.
  • Supports new business initiatives and projects and contributes to review meetings and change processes.
  • Interviews, hires, and trains employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees.
  • Provides direction and sets expectations for the team. Provides support and training necessary to ensure a motivated and efficient workforce.
  • Assesses performance based on objectives/KPIs and identifies development needs.
  • Works collaboratively with other departments to improve efficiency and maximize performance.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with peers and leverages talent across the organization.
  • Leads periodic all-hands meetings to share direction/updates. Establishes cadence for other departmental, project, and subject-specific meetings as necessary.
  • Ensures that all functions under supervision operate following health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of staff and visitors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
