About The Position

Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc., makers of Yellawood brand Pressure Treated Pine, is seeking a Plant Manager. This individual will be responsible for directing production and distribution operations for the branch plant, including managing production personnel, production performance, and production costs by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay and a full benefits package.   • The employee is required at all times to be free of impairment that could affect his/her ability to perform his/her job duties and responsibilities in a safe and responsible manner.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates receiving, warehousing, production, distribution, and shipping of product in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established by the Regional Operations Manager.
  • Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.
  • Reviews production costs and product quality and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of facility.
  • Ensures employee safety and compliance with governing regulatory agencies including OSHA and EPA.
  • Oversees overall maintenance and housekeeping of plant facilities and equipment.
  • Maintains positive employee relations and compliance with employment policies and regulations.
  • Manages subordinate shift supervisors who supervise hourly production employees.
  • Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employees.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, scheduling, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
