The Plant Manager manages and directs the Production, Maintenance, and Production Administration functions of the plant. This role ensures that operations are conducted within the guidelines established by GMP’s, producing products that meet or exceed customer and company quality expectations in a safe environment. The Plant Manager is responsible for maintaining costs, efficiencies, and volume targets at or better than budgeted or standard levels. This position directs the coordination of all manufacturing departments’ functions to ensure compliance with Company objectives, Quality Systems, and Customer Satisfaction. The role also involves assisting in establishing quality specifications and ensuring they are met by plant employees, promoting plant safety through employee education, directing the safety committee, and creating safety programs and incentives. The Plant Manager is expected to service sales at a 100% service goal, establish, maintain, and improve productivity standards, prepare the annual manufacturing budget, and analyze costs of plant improvements. This role actively participates in preparing the plant’s strategic operating plan, serves as a communication conduit between upper management and the plant, and executes projects as directed by the Vice-President of Manufacturing. Ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies, providing suggestions to improve processes and procedures, verifying GMP’s and Safety standards, and ensuring compliance with the HACCP program and AIB gold standard are also key responsibilities.
