About The Position

The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and continuous improvement of a fast‑paced, high‑volume, 24/7 manufacturing facility. This role ensures uninterrupted operations across all shifts while driving safety, quality, delivery, cost control, and employee engagement. As the senior on‑site leader, the Plant Manager aligns plant performance with business objectives and fosters a culture of accountability, urgency, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7–10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience
  • Proven success leading fast‑paced, high‑volume, 24/7 manufacturing operations
  • Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools
  • Demonstrated ability to drive safety, quality, delivery, and cost results
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to administer progressive discipline and corrective action as necessary

Nice To Haves

  • Lean, Six Sigma, or similar certifications
  • Experience in time‑sensitive or high‑output manufacturing environments
  • Experience with SAP

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee fast‑paced 24/7 manufacturing operations with a focus on safety, throughput, and consistency.
  • Ensure production plans meet customer demand, delivery targets, and inventory objectives.
  • Balance labor, materials, and equipment utilization across multiple shifts.
  • Drive consistent execution of standard work, escalation protocols, and shift handoffs.
  • Rapidly identify and remove constraints in a high‑output manufacturing environment.
  • Prioritize meeting deadlines.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with all departments and with personnel at all levels.
  • Own site‑wide safety performance and regulatory compliance.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture in a continuous‑operation environment.
  • Ensure product quality meets internal specifications and customer requirements.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for safety, quality, or downtime events.
  • Maintain compliance with internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
  • Build and develop a leadership team capable of operating in a fast‑paced, 24/7 environment.
  • Ensure strong supervision, communication, and engagement across all shifts.
  • Establish succession plans for critical operational roles.
  • Partner with HR on staffing, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Set clear expectations while reinforcing accountability, urgency, and teamwork.
  • Prioritize cross training and upskilling.
  • Promote employee engagement.
  • Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Improve KPIs including OEE, scrap, downtime, labor efficiency, and cost per unit.
  • Lead kaizen events and structured problem‑solving activities.
  • Develop and manage the plant operating budget.
  • Execute productivity, cost‑reduction, and capacity‑improvement initiatives.
  • Make recommendations for enhancements and improvements related to systems, personnel, policies and practices.
  • Take ownership of labor costs and work to minimize overtime.
  • Ensure equipment reliability to support non‑stop production.
  • Partner with Maintenance and Engineering on preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Support capital planning and equipment upgrades that improve safety and throughput.
