About The Position

This position is responsible for the safe and profitable operation of a Vitro automotive assembly plant to meet customer requirements while working within established budgets and site profitability objectives. These responsibilities include managing the assembly and delivery of products and, along with any supporting staff, overseeing all aspects of operations with a focus on bottom-line profitability and customer satisfaction. The incumbent ensures that the facility follows all aspects of Vitro’s Environmental, Health and Safety requirements to ensure a safe and environmentally sound workplace and prevent accidents and injuries.  The incumbent is responsible for all EH&S functions including maintaining controls and resources necessary to ensure the positive outcome of internal and external audits as well as obtaining and maintaining safety standards and certifications. The incumbent is responsible for financial control for the site, including building and maintaining the operating budget to deliver maximum operational efficiency at lowest possible cost, and making sure that spending is within budget, while meeting customer quality & delivery requirements. The incumbent utilizes Lean, Six Sigma concepts, Total Productive Maintenance, 5S and good housekeeping practices to ensure efficient flow of product/material and minimize waste. The incumbent must significantly contribute to building for the future, a strong and effective organization to ensure long-term success of the operational side of the business.  S/he is responsible for the acquisition, retention and development of the human resources required to optimize the effectiveness of site operations. Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills are required.  Computer literacy is mandatory, and the incumbent must have excellent communication skills, both spoken and written to interface with company management as well as customers. Experience in automotive glass manufacturing is highly desirable.  A strong background in Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement is required along with a proven ability to drive change in a manufacturing environment. The incumbent must also have excellent organizational, managerial, and interpersonal skills to make appropriate operating judgments involving supply chain, engineering, maintenance, quality, finance and human resource aspects of the operation.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills are required.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Management, or related field
  • 5 years' Experience
  • Language Required: English

Responsibilities

  • Provide the leadership, guidance and resources needed to achieve and maintain site compliance with all aspects of Vitro’s Environmental, Health and Safety requirements to ensure a safe and healthy work environment that prevents work-related accidents, illnesses and/or injuries.
  • Utilize planning, control and Just-in-Time (JIT) concepts to ensure products are assembled on time to meet customer forecasted demands.
  • Maximize bottom-line profitability of the facility, using available tools and metrics to acquire and maintain profitable growth and efficient management of costs.
  • Develop, maintain and motivate the site staff to produce a product that conforms to customer quality requirements at minimum cost in order to achieve excellent customer satisfaction while meeting profitability objectives.
  • Utilize Lean, Six Sigma concepts, 5S and good housekeeping practices to ensure efficient flow and to minimize waste.
  • Champion cost control to ensure plant spending remains at or below established budget levels.
