Requirements

  • BS in Engineering/Business or equivalent experience
  • Employee engagement experience
  • 10+ years’ experience in manufacturing environment
  • Lead with a servant leadership model.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for production plan execution, warehousing, EHS and product quality for the Lititz operation.
  • Continuous improvement of production plan optimization, quality assurance, safety, and productivity initiatives in the operation and warehouse.
  • Partner with Maintenance and Engineering functions to optimize machine uptime & preventative maintenance schedules and execution.
  • Proactively support company goals, policies, and Mission, Vision, Values for the manufacturing site and developing the people in the organization.
  • Identify local/industry best practices and sharing with the network, influencing adoption.
  • Establish standard work practices and grow continuous improvement capabilities that engage the salaried and hourly union employees in Lititz.
  • Develop and deploy strategies to achieve execution of the monthly production plan on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate and direct activities of functional managers and individual contributors to align the team and meet site balanced scorecard objectives.
  • Implement and improve strategies to adequately staff, cross-train, and deliver production plans, profitability, and leadership development.
  • Lead best practice implementation in safety, quality, throughput, and lean methodologies, retaining strong functional leaders in these areas.
  • Solve problems within cost of failures in a tiered process for continuous improvement of key operations and functions.
  • Support quality and ensure PPE, hygiene and quality standards are implemented and followed.
  • Promote and encourage a safe, positive, productive work environment.
  • Properly complete necessary paperwork and records as required for site compliance.
  • Organize and prioritize responsibilities to ensure efficient operations of the plant.
  • Anticipate and determine causes of delays in shift operations and take appropriate action to meet production schedules.
  • Development of people by coaching, exposing themselves to new technologies, training, etc.
  • Effectively maintain a workplace culture that is consistent with the overall organization's and that emphasizes guiding principles and values of the organization.
  • Administer company policies and procedures such as hiring, discharge, performance appraisals, wage changes, etc.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising product quality or safety.
  • Coach, counsel, and discipline employees.
  • Meet regularly with direct reports and Sr. Leaders in the organization to improve links to the factory performance and consistency of standard work processes.
  • Maintain positive relationships with union organization, maximizing relationships for company benefit.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Own and Drive plant level performance.
  • Coordinate Lean management standards deployment across Woodstream sites – Safety, Quality, OEE, Master Schedule Performance.
  • Deliver Site level fixed and variable Cost plan - Site level budget based on volume & mix, Protrack delivery, Protrack pipeline development.
  • Facilitate inventory reduction by partnering with cross functional teams – Inventory accuracy, cycle and change over time reduction.
  • Develop site Team capabilities and effectiveness through process and tool improvement - Lean Management Deployment, Roles & responsibility and KPI's rollout for site team.
  • Facilitate best practice rollout with Engineering and Maintenance.
  • Lead best practice rollout in operation for site, and applicable regulatory compliance.
  • Grow ability to collaborate with cross functional teams to drive visibility, cost & service – Manage with feedback and input from executive team.
