About The Position

Greif is seeking a hands-on Plant Manager to lead their plastics manufacturing facility in Nacogdoches, Texas. The role requires an experienced manufacturing leader who is visible on the plant floor, builds strong relationships, develops people, and drives continuous improvement. The plant has approximately 86 associates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Significant manufacturing leadership experience, preferably within a plant environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Hands-on leadership style with a willingness to be visible and engaged on the plant floor.
  • Proven ability to improve manufacturing efficiency and operational performance.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
  • Solid interpersonal skills and organization skills required.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build relationships, develop teams, and inspire confidence across the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills highly preferred (but not required).
  • Proficiency in enterprise platforms like SAP or Oracle to track inventory, supply chains, and resource planning preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations for a plastics manufacturing facility of approximately 86 associates.
  • Provide visible, hands-on leadership while building a culture of trust, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Drive improvements in safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, and equipment performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, reduce waste, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles to strengthen plant performance.
  • Monitor production results, identify performance gaps, and implement practical solutions.
  • Partner with maintenance, engineering, quality, safety, and other teams to address equipment and operational challenges.
  • Coach, develop, and engage associates while establishing clear performance expectations.
  • Support production planning, budgeting, and short- and long-term facility needs.
  • Champion a strong culture of workplace safety.
