About The Position

The Plant Manager is accountable for strategic operational oversight of a continuous manufacturing operation, including ensuring safety and quality standards, optimizing efficiency, cost management and leading a team of employees to meet the plant and organizational goals. The Plant Manager will lead and foster a plant safety culture through the operation, meeting all company and statutory requirements using the assigned processes and leader standard work for safety. They will lead daily plant operations, ensuring safety, quality, delivery and cost targets are met or exceeded. The role promotes a culture of accountability and teamwork within the plant and develops capabilities of direct reports through mentoring, training, and coaching. The Plant Manager works with plant leadership to develop and implement succession planning and talent management programs. They are responsible for the implementation of O-I's quality system by adhering to all quality standards and work with plant leadership to maintain productive employee relations, promoting and supporting team building and employee empowerment. The role establishes a culture of operational excellence and works with the appropriate plant leadership team to develop a plan for process improvement in the plant, including technological improvements, training to improve employee skills, and identifying opportunities to reduce costs. The Plant Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams, such as engineering, quality, finance, HR, etc. to identify opportunities for enhancing product quality, reducing costs, and improving overall plant efficiency with the goal of improving productivity and margin. They are responsible for leading and managing the hourly workforce in alignment with the terms of the multi-site Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), including full compliance with all contractual obligations, labor laws, and company policies. This role fosters a collaborative relationship with the union leadership, proactively addressing concerns and promoting open communication. Through partnership with the Union, the Plant Manager drives employee engagement, supports a positive work environment, and champions initiatives that enhance workforce morale, productivity, and operational excellence. They ensure compliance with Company policies, OSHA, EPA and other regulatory agencies.

Requirements

Bachelor Degree is required
Must have previous experience leading people in a manufacturing environment
Technical background in manufacturing and plant processes
Previous experience with P&L responsibility with success achieving KPIs and performance targets
Strong negotiation skills and union background with ability to lead by influence
Strong Financial Acumen and business understanding
Team Oriented Individual – must have excellent change management and people skills
