About The Position

The Plant Manager provides the leadership and direction to the Operations staff. They will manage all site operation-related functions in the safest and most effective manner, ensuring the highest level of quality is maintained, including managing all functions affecting plant productivity, operational efficiency, costs, and customer delivery targets.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of operations management experience, strong preference for aerospace manufacturing.
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resources allocation, human resources, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Knowledge of materials management and material flow.
  • Knowledge of SixSigma, 6S, and Continuous Improvement tools preferred.
  • Ability to monitor and assess performance of others and partner with Human Resources to make improvements or take corrective action.
  • Knowledge of machines, tools, and other tooling used in production, including their designs, uses, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated experience motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best person for the job.
  • Ability to consider costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Proactive communication with clear articulation of results and needs across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to establish and communicate clear priorities and to influence others to support and act on those priorities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Develops strategies to achieve operational objectives for daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly targets.
  • Responsible for meeting specific productivity and financial objectives, including variable costs related to direct and indirect labor, supplies, maintenance, and utilities.
  • Ensures consistent operational procedures and quality standards are implemented and followed throughout the manufacturing process and implements manufacturing improvements.
  • Identifies new opportunities and associated initiatives that will drive optimization in the process and manufacturing methodologies.
  • Achieves manufacturing excellence through continuous improvement techniques as determined by industry standards, market competition, and internal corporate benchmarks.
  • Maintains operational pipeline initiatives and drives accountability to meet targets.
  • Anticipates, identifies, and responds to actual and/or potential operational constraints and develops the necessary corrective actions.
  • Provides insight and vision to plant operations while practicing fiscal discipline; actively promotes an environment of positive employee relations with open communication channels and employee involvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.
