About The Position

DirectHire PLANT MANAGER POSITION SUMMARY The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and performance of plant operations, including safety, quality, delivery, cost, and financial results. This role ensures effective execution of manufacturing processes, achievement of production targets, and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for a manufacturing facility specializing in vibration monitoring technology, including oversight of production, manufacturing engineering, supply chain, quality, and EHS functions. Accountable for P&L performance, resource optimization, and KPI attainment. Serves as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to business planning, operational strategy, and organizational performance to position the company for growth.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 – 15 years of progressive experience in manufacturing or production environment.
  • Minimum 5 – 8 years of experience in manufacturing leadership roles (i.e., Operations Manager, Plant Manager).
  • Proven experience leading operations in a complex manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated success driving improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong experience working cross-functionally with internal teams and external customers/suppliers
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as needed
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
  • Strong leadership and people management capabilities
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Solid financial acumen, including the ability to interpret and manage financial statements
  • Strategic thinking with a data-driven approach to decision-making
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (IFS and Made2Manage preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of databases and reporting tools
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all day-to-day plant operations to achieve or exceed targets related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity
  • Ensure consistent execution of standardized manufacturing processes and best practices
  • Drive operational efficiency, throughput, and on-time delivery (OTD) performance
  • Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with business growth, cost optimization, and capacity expansion
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve performance
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to drive accountability and continuous improvement across the organization
  • Provide insights into global labor and productivity trends to support strategic decision-making
  • Maintain full accountability for plant financial performance, including P&L, budgeting, cost control, and capital investments
  • Develop and manage site-level budgets, forecasts, and capital projects aligned with business priorities
  • Partner with leadership to support long-term strategic planning and business objectives
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing, multi-functional team
  • Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
  • Build organizational capability through succession planning and talent development
  • Promote a consistent leadership approach aligned with company values and expectations
  • Partner with Sales, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, and HR to align operations with business and customer needs
  • Collaborate with Sales to ensure operational alignment with customer expectations and service levels
  • Serve as a key liaison between plant operations and executive leadership
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies, including ISO9001 and ISO13485 standards
  • Provide leadership oversight for quality systems, audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Promote and sustain a strong safety culture across all plant operations
