About The Position

The Plant Manager has direct responsibility for the plant sites including safety, environment, operations, sales, maintenance, inventory management, performance, quality, financial performance, employee relations, plant’s image and community relations. The Plant Manager is a professional who understands the value of planning and processes and takes a disciplined approach to execution, while working closely and effectively with safety, environment, sales, credit, and customer service, performance, finance and Human Resources.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education, undergraduate degree in a related field (Business or Engineering).
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a supervisor role.
  • 3 to 5 years in sales roles.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
  • Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and uphold environmental policies and safety cultures as a site priority, ensuring all Amrize best practices and regulatory requirements are met or exceeded.
  • Provide direct oversight of plant activities—including processing, storage, and shipping— to ensure optimized workflows and best-in-class cost management.
  • Maximize plant up-time and equipment longevity through the effective utilization of Amrize maintenance programs for both fixed and mobile assets.
  • Ensure all products remain within specifications and exceed customer expectations by implementing robust quality control processes and production best practices.
  • Achieve annual revenue targets and manage site budgets/forecasts, balancing raw material costs with market demand.
  • Utilize KPIs, financial statements, and Performance Efficiency Reviews to identify variances, establish action plans, and drive continuous operational improvement.
  • Develop operational and capital plans (CERs) to improve productivity and maintain a competitive cost advantage.
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle for direct reports—including recruitment, development, and performance management—while fostering a safe, productive, and proud work environment.
  • Manage site inventory requirements through tight coordination with suppliers, accounting, and performance teams.
  • Serve as an official Amrize representative within industry associations and community events, upholding the company’s reputation as a good corporate citizen.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and company policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
  • Collect local market intelligence to track market share and competitor activity; provide accurate sales forecasts and backlog reports.
  • Conduct frequent site visits to assess future demand and strengthen relations through value-added marketing and branded products.
  • Quote tenders for all customers, collaborating with the Area Manager on large-scale projects and key accounts.
  • Lead negotiations on pricing, volume, and service terms; resolve "tough" situations such as claims or delivery delays.
  • Coordinate with the credit department to establish new accounts, manage collections, and ensure accurate, timely pricing for billing.
  • Self-analyze sales performance, optimize daily agendas for maximum face-to-face customer time, and attend all scheduled sales meetings.
  • Review orders prior to invoicing for accuracy and strictly comply with order cancellation procedures.
  • Deliver on-site coaching and guidance to superintendents, batchers, and drivers as needed.
