About The Position

Charlotte Pipe and Foundry Company is seeking an Extrusion Satellite Plant Manager for its Maize, KS facility. Charlotte Pipe is a leading manufacturer of pipe and fittings, offering a complete system of cast iron, PVC, CPVC, ABS, and FlowGuard Gold® pipe and fittings for various applications. The company makes continuous investments in tooling and machinery to meet demand and provide high-quality products in a safe and productive work environment. The Extrusion Satellite Plant Manager will be responsible for the management and performance of the satellite plant location, which produces PVC pipe. This role oversees all aspects of a 24/7 high-production volume environment, including safety, quality, production, personnel, technical solutions, materials management, reporting, and training.

Requirements

  • B.S. or B.A. Degree or equivalent manufacturing experience.
  • 5+ years extrusion experience with production supervisory experience.
  • Strong commitment to all aspects of safety.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment managing multiple shifts and manufacturing personnel.
  • Strong history of meeting production goals.
  • Strong technical ability; Must possess troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience mentoring and coaching supervisors and associates.
  • Strategic mindset with proven leadership abilities.
  • Commitment to being accessible at all times for a 24/7 operation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the performance of the extrusion satellite plant.
  • Ensure safety, quality, and production targets are met in a 24/7 high-production volume environment.
  • Manage personnel, including supervisors and associates.
  • Oversee technical solutions, materials management, reporting, and training.
  • Coordinate daily activities in the facility.
  • Make decisions regarding procurement, spare parts, and raw material inventory.
  • Ensure a safe work environment.
  • Manage production and knowledge of plant equipment.
  • Partner with the scheduling group to produce the correct material.
  • Oversee shipping, mixing, and office administration.
  • Manage quality control, including third-party inspections and company quality standards.
  • Manage a maintenance department and crew.
  • Handle human resources functions such as payroll, insurance, and enforcement of rules.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy, housekeeping, and work scheduling.
  • Conduct associate reviews, hiring, coaching, and counseling.
  • Maintain efficient production and training programs.
  • Set goals and maintain a positive, motivated workforce.
  • Ensure environmental knowledge and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain community relations and outreach programs.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with peer group.
