Position Overview The Plant Manager will lead and optimize all aspects of a high-volume aluminum extrusion facility. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and workforce engagement while ensuring alignment with company objectives. This is a highly visible leadership position requiring both strategic thinking and hands-on execution in a complex manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing
  • Proven experience managing large-scale operations (500+ employees preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of aluminum extrusion processes and related operations
  • Experience in high-volume production environments with aggressive KPIs
  • Background in union environments and labor relations
  • Financial acumen including budgeting and capital project management
  • Experience with ERP systems and production scheduling
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead all plant operations including extrusion, finishing, fabrication, and shipping
  • Drive key performance metrics: safety, quality, scrap reduction, uptime, and on-time delivery
  • Analyze production data to identify opportunities and implement improvements
  • Manage plant financial performance including budgets and cost controls
  • Oversee scheduling, capacity planning, and material flow
  • Partner with HR to support workforce planning and union relations
  • Lead, coach, and develop managers, supervisors, and frontline employees
  • Champion Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure strong communication and engagement across all levels of the organization
