About The Position

Leads all Tapemaster Troy manufacturing operations with full responsibility for safety, culture, customer delivery, quality, continuous improvement, and P&L performance.

Requirements

  • Core competencies include leadership, accountability, sound judgment, communication, problem solving, financial discipline, continuous improvement, customer focus, and the ability to develop people and teams.
  • Physical requirements include regular time on the production floor, standing and walking for extended periods, and the ability to safely access manufacturing equipment and work areas as needed.
  • Agree to follow and enforce the Employee Handbook and pass required pre-employment screening.
  • Communicate effectively with employees, peers, leadership, customers, and suppliers.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including plant-level responsibility for production teams, results, and financial performance.
  • Strong CNC machining, job shop, tooling, fixtures, setup reduction, routings, and shop-floor problem-solving experience.
  • Working knowledge of P&L statements, budgeting, forecasting, cost drivers, capital justification, and variance analysis.
  • ERP or job-management system experience for scheduling, labor reporting, purchasing, inventory, shipping, and job-cost visibility; Plex preferred.
  • Experience supporting quality systems, corrective action, customer requirements, and controlled manufacturing documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or Business preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the responsible site leader for Tapemaster Troy, reinforcing safety as “the priority”, quality and the quality management system, on-time delivery, employee engagement, teamwork, leadership development, and accountability.
  • Maintain a clean, professional facility and equipment presentation for employees and customers.
  • Own plant financial performance, including revenue and margin forecasts, budget support, capital planning, and labor forecasting to support customer demand.
  • Lead CNC machining operations, programming support, setup, cycle-time improvement, preventive maintenance, and equipment reliability.
  • Oversee daily production in a high-mix, low-volume machining environment, balancing customer priorities, executable schedules, capacity, setup reduction, quality, and profitable execution.
  • Drive continuous improvement across site operations and deliver cost savings that support identified budget and financial commitments.
  • Support quoting, order review, supplier coordination, subcontractor performance, new product development, and program launch.
  • Lead, coach, and hold the operations team accountable while partnering with Human Resources on staffing, training, performance management, employee relations, succession planning, and skill development.
  • Communicate priorities, results, and expectations to employees, leadership, customers, and suppliers as appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Lead, manage, and hold accountable the Tapemaster Troy Production, Quality, Process Engineering, and Maintenance teams.
