Requirements

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of automotive manufacturing experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of work and education
  • Possess excellent leadership abilities
  • Extensive experience with lean manufacturing concepts
  • Extensive experience with Cost of Quality
  • Certified in various problem-solving methodologies (Six Sigma, Red X, Lean, etc.)
  • Minimum of 5 years of auditing experience
  • Must possess exceptional communication skills both verbal and written
  • Negotiating and explanation skills are required
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills along with a strong sense of time management
  • Technical communication / understanding of company processes
  • Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

  • Assists in establishing current and long-range objectives, plans and policies.
  • Structures and organizes plant operations team, processes, and procedures
  • Creates and fosters positive relationships with production hourly workforce and leads team in plant operation expectations
  • Ensures and enforces plant guidelines, policies, and expectations for plant operation
  • Advises, guides, directs and authorizes personnel to carry out major plans and procedures consistent with established policies and corporate approval.
  • Assists in managing the adequacy and soundness of the division’s financial structure.
  • Reviews operating results of the division. Compares them to established objectives. Ensures appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.
  • Establishes and maintains an effective system of communications throughout the division.
  • Assists in representing the division with major customers, financial community and the public.
  • Assists in planning, developing and implementing organization policies and goals.
  • Coordinates activities of departments.
  • Assists in directing and coordinating the promotion of products manufactured or services performed to develop new markets, increase market share and obtain competitive position in the industry.
  • Assists in analyzing division or department budget requests to identify areas in which reductions can be made.
  • Assists in the allocation of the operating budget.
  • Participates in problem solving and continuous improvement activities.
  • As instructed by the General Manager, will direct, promote and review programs relating to safety, quality and productivity in the division and recommend changes where desirable.
  • Performs regular workplace inspections and monitors compliance with all Health and Safety and ISO14001 policies and procedures.
  • Assists in development and implementation of quality procedures, work instructions and standards.
  • Understands quality policy and assures compliance with ISO/IATF systems.
  • Conducts performance reviews informally or formally as required and ensures performance reviews are completed for all employees.
  • Builds and fosters teamwork within the department creating an environment where team members are respectful (people, property, equipment), work together, communicate effectively and lend a hand when/where required.
  • Ensures suppliers are performing work safely while in operations work areas/zones when applicable.
  • Attends departmental and plant-wide communication meetings as scheduled.
  • Other duties as required.
