The ideal Plant Manager is a strategic, results‑driven leader with deep experience in food manufacturing operations. You lead with accountability, build strong teams, and create a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. You are both hands‑on and forward‑thinking—able to drive daily execution while setting a clear long‑term vision for the facility. As the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for the overall safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the facility. You will lead all plant functions to ensure the production of safe, high‑quality, and legal finished products while driving operational performance and cultural excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Operations, Engineering, or related field preferred)
• 6–10 years of progressive management experience in food production or manufacturing
• Proven leadership experience managing full plant operations and teams
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
• Deep understanding of food safety, quality systems, and regulatory requirements
• Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
• Ability to lead change, drive results, and build a high-performance culture
• Strong business acumen with the ability to connect operations to overall company performance
• Self-starter with a “can-do” attitude and strong sense of ownership

Responsibilities

• Leading all aspects of plant operations, including safety, quality, production, food safety, and regulatory compliance
• Ensuring compliance with GMPs, OSHA, HACCP, FSMA, GFSI, and company safety and sanitation standards
• Maintaining an everyday audit-ready facility
• Setting the vision, strategy, and performance expectations for the plant and aligning teams to achieve results
• Building, developing, and leading a high‑performing supervisory and leadership team
• Driving a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence
• Establishing clear performance goals and ensuring alignment across all employees
• Managing plant performance across key metrics including safety, quality, cost, and efficiency
• Collaborating cross‑functionally to solve problems and improve operational outcomes
• Serving as a key resource and decision-maker for plant operations
• Overseeing grain quality, document control, and HACCP programs within the facility
• Acting as backup for key plant leadership roles as needed
• Ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained manufacturing environment
• Supporting Mennel’s Mission, Motto, and Food Safety & Quality Statement
• Performing other duties as assigned
