About The Position

The Cumberland River Quarry in Salem, Kentucky is currently recruiting for a Plant Maintenance position. This role involves a variety of hands-on tasks related to the upkeep and repair of quarry equipment. The position requires a self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Successful candidates will be expected to maintain a good attendance record, possess a positive attitude, and be responsible for minimizing property damage. All incidents are subject to management review. Job duties must be completed to the satisfaction of the supervisor. This employment position may be considered a Safety Sensitive Position related to the operation of equipment or working in proximity of operating equipment, working over or adjacent to water, working at a height, or a particular assignment regulated by license, credential, or contract which stipulates the position or work as Safety Sensitive.

Requirements

Ability and desire to work 12-hour shifts
Willingness and flexibility to work weekend or overtime as needed
Ability to do manual labor including lifting items as heavy as 50 pounds
Ability and desire to work during inclement conditions including extreme heat and cold
Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and perform repetitive bending and stooping when required
Excellent communication skills
Work well with all personnel at the Quarry
Motivated and a self-starter
Must be in current classification for 12 months before applying
If awarded position, employee must stay in this new position for at least 12 months before applying for a new position
Read a tape measure

Responsibilities

Weld in flat position
Use a torch with a straight tip
Replace rollers on conveyors
Flexco a belt
Replace drive belts on a conveyor and tighten correctly
Run drill press to drill liners
Maintain tools and equipment/service truck
Weld in flat, vertical and overhead position
Use a torch with a straight and scarfing tip and know what tip size to use
Signed off Gradalls/man lifts
Operate a track torch
Lay out drill pattern on liners
Train a belt
Maintain a good attendance record, have a good attitude towards the job, be responsible for minimal to no property damage incidents.
Complete job duties to the satisfaction of their supervisor
Weld in flat, vertical, and overhead positions no matter the material/thickness
Use an air arc or the lance
Have some understanding of the mechanics of the crushers/shakers
The ability to hear a noise at plants and know you have an issue
Fabricate
Replace drive belts on crushers/shakers and tighten correctly
Keep work area clean after job is complete
