About The Position

The Plant Maintenance Technician performs preventive maintenance and repairs on our physical plant and manufacturing assets at the Norton Shores facility. They also perform electrical and other mechanical modifications and installations to the facility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Certification or school in a trade
  • Experience in welding of stainless steel, Plumbing, Electrical and HVAC
  • At least two years of related experience required
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Familiarity or general aptitude for PLC systems is preferred
  • Equipment maintenance, Technical Understanding, and basic Safety
  • Computer Knowledge
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds
  • Ability to stand for an extended periods of time
  • Must be able to wear any required PPE such as scrubs, hair net, lab coat, facemask, welding helmet and fall protection.
  • Ability to work in a packaging area with a moderate powder substance in the air with or without a respirator
  • Ability to work above shoulders
  • Other physical requirements include frequent squatting, bending, twisting, and bi-lateral wrist movement
  • Ability to work around a variety of different smells and aromas
  • Ability to adjust work schedule as business needs require.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Maximize productive uptime of equipment
  • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance to minimize downtime
  • Complete repairs and/or preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatics, conveyor systems, and production equipment using or following diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications.
  • Provides mechanical information by answering questions and concerns.
  • Resolves most issues in-house: electrical, mechanical, and fabrication.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations such as GMP’s
  • Ensures all phases of repairs follow current SOP’s and are documented accordingly
  • Assist in implementing and complying with company safety initiatives.
  • General facility cleaning and maintenance
  • Minor equipment repairs and maintenance
  • Ability to assemble/disassemble production equipment
  • Know/Read S.O.P’s

  • Facilities maintenance and grounds
  • Will complete other duties as assigned
