Plant Maintenance / Mechanic – Sivells Bend, Texas
About The Position
Pine Bluff Materials is recruiting a Plant Maintenance Technician / Mechanic for its Sivells Bend, Texas operations. The selected candidate reports to the Sivells Bend location daily. This role inspects, repairs, and performs preventive maintenance on equipment used in sand processing operations, helping ensure safe, efficient plant operation with minimal downtime. Equipment includes crushers, conveyors, pumps, screens, and other production machinery. The position may be considered safety sensitive because it can involve operating equipment or working near operating equipment, over or near water, at heights, or in assignments regulated as safety sensitive.
Requirements
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, welding, hydraulics, and industrial equipment.
- Ability to safely operate maintenance tools, cutting torches, welders, grinders, and lifts.
- Ability to work outdoors and regularly lift more than 50 pounds.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with conveyors, crushers, and rotating equipment is highly preferred.
- Prior experience in industrial sand, aggregates, mining, or dredge-based extraction systems.
- Welding experience.
Responsibilities
- Complete scheduled preventive maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime.
- Lubricate, adjust, and calibrate machinery to support optimal performance.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and parts usage.
- Monitor equipment condition and report potential issues before failures occur.
- Help maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment.
- Participate in safety meetings, training, and emergency response drills.
- Ensure repairs and modifications comply with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with plant startups and shutdowns.
- Support equipment installation, upgrades, and modifications.
- Perform general labor or operational tasks when needed.
