Plant Maintenance Tech I
About The Position
The Plant Maintenance Tech I, also referred to as a Hospital Maintenance Technician I, Maintenance Worker, or Maintenance Specialist, maintains and repairs non-medical equipment and hospital facility systems to help ensure safe, efficient hospital operations. Duties include routine inspections, responding to emergencies, and supporting compliance with safety codes and hospital operations. Systems and equipment may include mechanical, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, plant maintenance, and medical gas systems. Driving may be required for company business. The position is full-time, day shift, with 8-hour shifts at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco, Texas. Knapp Medical Center is a not-for-profit hospital and a member of the Prime Healthcare Foundation.
Requirements
- Able to troubleshoot and read schematics and/or blueprints.
- Valid, current state driver's license.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum 0–1 years of healthcare experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate logs on all hospital equipment.
- Provide for a safe working environment.
- Maintain and repair equipment and systems, including mechanical, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, plant maintenance, and medical gas systems.
- Drive as needed for company business.
