About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance operations within our cabinetry manufacturing facility in South Plainfield, NJ. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of manufacturing equipment through preventive maintenance programs, equipment inspections, troubleshooting, and repair activities. The Maintenance Supervisor will work closely with production teams and equipment vendors to minimize downtime and support continuous manufacturing operations. Cabinetry manufacturing experience is highly preferred, but candidates with strong experience in a manufacturing environment are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and repair experience with manufacturing equipment.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and maintenance best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and technical documentation.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation for occasional off-hours support.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in cabinetry, woodworking, millwork, furniture manufacturing, or related industries.
  • Experience with CNC machinery, conveyors, automated assembly equipment, edge banders, panel saws, or finishing equipment.
  • Experience working directly with equipment manufacturers and maintenance vendors.
  • Technical certification, trade school education, or related maintenance training.
  • Spanish skills are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate day-to-day maintenance activities for manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
  • Develop, implement, and manage preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment performance and reduce downtime.
  • Conduct routine line inspections and equipment assessments to identify potential issues before they impact production.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment on the manufacturing floor.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and coordinate corrective maintenance efforts to restore operations quickly.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and equipment service records.
  • Partner with production leadership to schedule maintenance activities with minimal disruption to operations.
  • Coordinate with equipment manufacturers, service providers, and supply vendors regarding repairs, replacement parts, maintenance contracts, and equipment upgrades.
  • Monitor spare parts inventory and recommend purchases to support operational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all OSHA, safety, environmental, and company policies.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and equipment reliability enhancements.
  • Provide leadership, training, and support to maintenance team members as needed.
